Flowers in the Street

Most weekdays, I drive Ginger across town to the preschool where she works. On the way, I look for natural beauty in the midst of the city. One of my favorite spots is an intersection where a row of flowers keeps me patient as I wait for the green light that will allow me to turn left.

i appreciate the photos you post. they jolt me right back to the valley, where i grew up. i can't tell the street here, but saw those hills every day of my youth.

i was born in burbank. the church you mentioned a few posts back is where i attended preschool. victory blvd. was the major cross-street by our home.

wishing you the best in what comes next.

The view is looking south on Victory Blvd near Burbank Blvd. The hills are the ones that surround Griffith Park and the L.A. Zoo---in fact, the top of that ridge is where I took the photo on my Apr. 11 post. However, since this view is through my side-view mirror, everything is reversed.

ok, now i know exactly! we lived farther up victory, but the hills are seared in my mind. [although i moved from the valley to eagle rock in 1975, and left LA entirely in 1979.]
