Road to a Waterfall

This road leads to a waterfall. Vehicles are not allowed; we went on foot, about five miles round-trip.

I love hiking along the Sierra crest, where the mountains are bold, impressive, huge. However, there is something comforting in hiking through hills that are more "manageable." Twenty minutes could get me to the top of this hill, easy. Looking at this picture I took, it seems as if this hill is something I could hold in my hands. I could reach the top in one run, without stopping. I could do it now, without making detailed plans, without having to do it one segment at a time.

Life shouldn't always be so easy. Sometimes, though, it's nice to take a break.
