Cookies

At the local high school where I sometimes substitute teach, there is a food preparation class. This is finals week, and for their exam, the students were required to bake a plateful of cookies, wrap it in pretty paper, and then donate it to a local charity for Christmas.

Well, in our rural area, there aren't many local charities to choose from. So all the cookies came to me, the pastor of the local church.

Many of these plates will go into the Christmas baskets we put together at church for area families. Others will be served after our Christmas Eve service. For now, however, they sit on my kitchen counter. Most of them will make it to Christmas Eve. Some of them might not.

I'd write more, but I need to go to the kitchen now to get, er, something....
