Pirates and Princesses

For my two sons, spending time with their cousins is somewhat of a cross-cultural experience. All their cousins are girls, which means they are taken out of their world of pirates, bokagons, and wizards, and immersed in a whole new world: the world of princesses.

On Saturday, we spent the day at the cousins' home. They live at the far northern edge of urban Los Angeles, where the city meets the mountains and the desert. They spent several hours in the house of princesses, until the girls left--one to a Daisy troop activity, one to go shopping. So the boys' uncle let them ride his quad, which was way better than shopping.

On Sunday, the pirates and the princesses met at Disneyland. The princesses like the Princess Fantasy Faire and Tinker Bell's Pixie Hollow; the boys wanted to meet Stitch. But both the pirates and the princesses agreed that nothing could beat sharing churros and popcorn with one another.

the hills say: 'need. water. soon.'where are the parents? ridng the Tower of Terror, something that pirates and princesses don't do.

Next week, a new set of princesses (i.e. cousins) arrives in town. It's a good thing that these pirates are friendly!

It's a very good thing! See you next week. The girls are looking forward to it! We have never seen The Happiest Place on Earth at Holiday time.

I actually think the quad belongs to the princesses.

"Anonymous": sometimes minor technical details like that must be sacrificed for the sake of a good story! :-)
