Dog Days
It's been hot lately. The local newscasts remind us that a "red flag warning" is still in effect, meaning that there is an extremely high risk of wildfires. Temperatures are up and humidity is down.
Some of the blogs I visit have been showcasing pictures of leaves changing color and people in jackets. I hear that some parts of the continent are actually experiencing precipitation. Here, there's been no measurable precipitation in over five months.
Still, living in southern California does have its advantages.
The weather forecasters say that we're in for a slow cooling trend. By the weekend, we may even see some rain--possibly as much as a quarter of an inch in the mountains. Woot woot.
