Annual Meeting

In just a few hours, we're loading up the minivan and driving 122 miles to Pacific Grove, California, for our regional church's Annual Meeting. I'm looking forward to the cool ocean breezes, the worship services, the speakers (including Sharon Watkins), and seeing old friends. I'm looking forward to walking the boardwalk on the sand dunes, watching for deer. I'm looking forward to leading 400 people in song with my guitar and some friends on Saturday night. I'm looking forward to watching my children run around, and watching the teenager who's going with us experience the love that is found when people live in Christian community---even if it's only for 3 days & 2 nights. He really needs to experience that right now.

And maybe I'll find some time to write. Who knows. I've actually written two different things to post here, but am not quite happy with either one of them. I am just a bit of a perfectionist, in case you didn't know.

It's been two years since we last went to the Annual Meeting. We missed last year due to my grandmother's 90th birthday party in southern California. Which reminds me: Happy 91st, Grandma!

Sounds like a great way to spend a few days. I hope you are having a good time.

Ha! Did I write 122 miles? That's wishful thinking... More like 222 miles. One way. But well worth it!
